We are pleased to announce “I’m ready.”, a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Kana Arimura at tagboat’s gallery space on the 7th floor of Hankyu MEN’S TOKYO, Ginza.
After graduating from Joshibi University of Art and Design, Kana Arimura has continued to draw on the themes of young girls, the world, life, death, and everyday life.
Dreams, fantasy, madness, and toxicity, everything that comes to mind is sublimated as something real to her.
There, the chasm between “dreams and reality,” “lies and truth,” “likes and dislikes,” and various other wavering emotions are projected, and the little bit of toxicity sprinkled in the young girl’s vivid world releases the power of the work that makes it addictive.
The masked young girls expressed with a small number of strokes are both her alter ego and ourselves. Refreshing, romantic, and poisonous mixed between hope and despair, she realistically appeals to the “poetry” that will be released at the same time as her work.
In this exhibition, which will be her first solo exhibition at tagbopat, Kana Arimura will exhibit and sell new works including the original drawings for BiSH’s Momoko Gumi Company’s first novel “Otogi no Kuni no Mikuru” (Kawade Shobo Shinsha). Please come and see the fantastical, sexy, and slightly crazy works of Kana Arimura.
