We are pleased to announce “Venus in Furs,” a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Yumeno Goto at taboat’s gallery on the 7th floor of Hankyu MEN’S TOKYO, Ginza.

Goto Yumeno is an up-and-coming artist who graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design in 2019 and completed her Master’s degree in oil painting at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2022.

Her paintings are inspired by mythology, folklore, magic, the Virgin Mary, and statues of goddesses.　Just as they have been handed down since ancient times, she weaves the atmosphere of the world in which she lives into her paintings and passes them on to the future.

The message of reaching out to people’s hearts and bringing salvation is colorfully expressed in his works. The material strength of the oil paintings, with their layers of uneven surfaces, and the spiritual world within, create a strong sense of depth and profoundness.

In this exhibition, her second solo show at tagboat, she will exhibit and sell new oil paintings.

Please come and see the works of Yumeno Goto, who expresses herself with vivid colors that emerge from the darkness.
