We are pleased to announce “Reality,” a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Ota kiyoo at tagboat’s gallery space on the 7th floor of Hankyu MEN’S TOKYO, Ginza, Tokyo.
Ota graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University, and completed the Technology Management Course at the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.
After working in the financial industry, Ota decided to pursue a career in art in order to create works of art that would last forever, even after his death.
He uses 3DCAD to model ideal structures that are practical in the real world, and then uses a 3D printer to make them real.
Embodied with philosophy and mathematics, Ota kiyoo’s works have a mechanism that creates something new. If you look at them from various angles, you will always be surprised and notice something new.
Based on the “cube,” the smallest unit of his work, which is a straightforward expression of the beauty of its structure, Ota makes full use of perspective and optical illusions to pursue the essential beauty of objects.
In this exhibition, Ota’s first solo show at tagboat, he will exhibit and sell several new works from the “Boundary,” “bit,” “Metabolism,” “Perspective,” and other series. Please come and see the space where art and technology are fused.
