We are pleased to announce “Spin on,” a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Suzuki Hyottoko at the tagboat gallery on the 7th floor of Hankyu MEN’S TOKYO, Ginza.
When Hyottoko Suzuki was a student at Musashino Art University, she transferred to the animation major with the idea of giving her paintings a story and time axis. Currently, influenced by Japanese picture scrolls and ukiyoe prints, which are both detailed and descriptive as paintings, she creates humorous paintings by mixing them with contemporary commodities.
Aiming for expression with time changes and stories, you can find hidden tricks such as classical and contemporary elements in every detail of her works.
In this exhibition, her first solo show at tagboat, Suzuki will exhibit and sell her new works. Please come and see the works of Suzuki Hyottoko, who synchronizes the ancient and the modern and finds the unexpected in them.
